I like making found sound tracks and making videos to put on this website and YouTube, so I thought it would be good to make a found sounds based track and made a whole page for it as I needed an extra page anyway. I recorded the audio on my video camera this time as I used the video clip to make the video which took a long time but was worth it. It was also fun to record the sounds which they all are from around my flat from spoons to cocktail sticks to an annoying pig ornament that is also a bell might as well call it a bell. As always I enjoyed making the video and track and also recording the samples which you can download for free it will be in the last tab on this post or in the free downloads menu. It was a bit of a mission but not really I haven’t got an SD card slot in my computer or at least I don’t think I have and luckily I have an old laptop so I used that, I do have a lead but  I don’t know where I put it to and it looks like the 100 other cables I have that don’t work for my video camera. The video took a day to make and I’m quite pleased with it I was saying in the YouTube video description I was going to make another one, one day, as I didn’t find it stressful apart from the app, crashes that happened every now and then but it was fine as I saved it and it restores from the last place you was working on and it doesn’t take too long to reload the app I use Pinnacle Studio by the way. It was kind of weird not doing a visual though there is a visual element in there but it was a bit weird as the video was mostly video I used to make music videos to my music but I always run out of ideas and resources so I choose visuals as it’s something I can spin a couple of times as in there are lots you can do with it. Below is the video, the bits and bobs like the raw video, the audio and the gallery also the last tab is the free download for the sample pack I will release the tracks one day on Bandcamp or a proper release I just need more tracks to go with this one and they will all be found sounds songs and hopefully all different topics not just like this video and all related to these posts I make on here.

Melodic Distortion

Melodic Distortion is a synergy synthscape of synth, drums and percussion. I started it by accident as I was making mixes for my Soundcloud page and this website when it came out all weird and mangled only one luckily and I managed to fix the problem but I had this idea of making a long soundscape or synthscape. I used a lot of plugins from Artuia and one from Roland I would have liked to add more synth stuff in there but I was worried about my CPU and I was recording at the time as I recorded the whole making of which can also be found on my YouTube Channel where I post frequent feel free to subscribe if you want. I do enjoy experimenting with sound and I have dedicated a few pages right here on my website which can be found in the main menu in Videos and Music Creations. I added more sounds to the hour-long file I had of the mangled audio, but I couldn’t resist making something out of it as I heard it playing it back and thinking I could use this for something and I’m glad I did now as I had so much fun making the audio and the visual which I did after making the audio. I always wanted to do a soundscape never thought about synthscape before but I always wanted to make something long and changes a lot and coming across this audio I made I found just the thing I hope to see if I can make another one following the steps I did when I was making the mixes. I hope it comes out the same as I do intend on doing another one soon as this turned out quite good and I enjoy listening to it and I hope you do too. I would describe the synth as a 70’s to early 80s synthscape throwback mixed with Hip Hop beats and lots of different patterns and twists and turns to keep you entertained for a while.  I am a bit of a synthesizer addict and I have quite a few plugins now some I use more than others but I do try and make use of all of them including the ones that I don’t really like but my favourite plugins are from Artuia the V Collection they are replicas of old synthesizer hardware including the Fairlight CMI one of the oldest synthesizers out there and used a lot by artists like Kate Bush. I also like Diva, Replica and Repro from U-He which are all out of bounds at the moment I swapped computers and can’t get them to work on my new computer but I will have to get in touch with them so I can start using them again as I do like the U-He products, especially Repro which is one of my favourites to use for synthy stuff but other stuff as well.  I like to experiment with sound and when I can be bothered I like to record sounds on my recorder and see what kind of patterns I can make and luckily I have a few filters which help with the job but I didn’t use one filter on this synthscape the parts that sounded like that came out like that already but I’m happy with it and didn’t mind the hours spent on it. Below are some fun things I put together including the making of the video and the actual final video itself. The making of videos is a bit long so you don’t have to watch them all but there are there if you want anyway enjoy.

Trial & Error – Session 2

I’m back with another experimental and sampling post with more free downloads. These two tracks are from a holiday video from Black Gang Chime which is an amusement park on the Isle Of Wight and also I used clips from the film Pink Flamingos. I have made three tracks from the samples from the film and I got one Jungle, one House, and now one Experimental, and probably the last one I might make four though and release it as an unreleased EP on SoundCloud. Once again I used my cassette recorder and it’s coming out more wobbly but I actually like the wobble to it and have cleaned it up a bit I might have to switch over tapes or stop using the same bits as they weren’t the best quality tapes but sounded good on the first couple of recordings. I didn’t use many filters not the heavy-duty ones but I did use Fabfilter on them to make them sound better and less harsh I also did use a lot of delays, especially on the last track Divinity but I did use some heavy-duty filters on one or two tracks. I like to go in blind and not have any expectations except to make it good and mess about with FXs like delay and reverb and also those heavy-duty filters from Arturia and SoundToys. It’s a whole lot of experimenting which I love to do and is just a break from the main genres I make but I do enjoy making experimental music and also sampling which I did for all the tracks and are some of my older tracks I made and also I made the samples too.

TRIAL & ERROR - SESSION 1

This post is an experimental post all about the experimental music I made using a cassette player, Tascam and FL Studio. I recorded the samples onto the tape player and used the Tascam device to get the sounds from there. The sounds are from my holiday videos and were when I went to a place called Flambards, an amusement park in Lizard, Cornwall in 2017, and also I used a public information film from the 70s. I also used RX7 to clean the file up a bit. This is the start of a series I’m doing with all experimental tracks using the cassette player and more experimental fun and is me trying to make use of the cassette player as I still haven’t used it that much I mean a couple of times. I’ve done some experimental tracks in the past so I thought why not do more with doing the Baby Bot and everything, also I posted quite a few experimental tracks on SoundCloud recently as I noticed I’ve done quite a few in the past but this is all for my website but all the links are in the description. It’s not one of the main genres I do but I thought I make more but something different from the Baby Bot 3000 and make something out of it on my website which is what I’m doing.
